St Catherine’s British School

An evening of awareness, inclusion and community

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2025, the Stanford Club of Greece is proud to host “Who’s that Type 1?” at St Catherine’s British School.

Through a keynote speech by Myrto Stergiou, a 13-year-old student living with Type 1 Diabetes, a fireside chat on life with the condition, and a panel discussion on the role of schools and communities, the evening will go beyond awareness. It will foster dialogue on inclusion, empathy, and resilience — values that make us all stronger and help build a more supportive society.

The event was envisioned by Myrto, whose passion for raising awareness and inspiring others has brought this important conversation to life.

The event will be held in English.

Stanford Club of Greece – Vasilopita Celebration 2025 Recap

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Yesterday evening, the Stanford Club of Greece hosted its annual Vasilopita Celebration, bringing together alumni, friends, and guests for a memorable evening of tradition, thought-provoking discussion, and warm community spirit.

Alongside the traditional dinner and Vasilopita cutting ceremony, we had the privilege of welcoming renowned historian Thanos Veremis as our keynote speaker.

“The Return of Reactionary Politics in the Western World: Historical Parallels and Future Implications”

Professor Veremis led a captivating conversation on the resurgence of reactionary politics across the Western world, drawing insightful parallels from history and engaging the audience in a lively discussion about contemporary challenges and future implications.

The evening concluded with the cutting of the Vasilopita and the sharing of the lucky coin — a moment of joy and connection that reminded us of the strength of our Stanford community in Greece.

A heartfelt thank you to all attendees for your presence and support.
We look forward to welcoming you to our next Stanford Club of Greece event!

Warm regards,
The Stanford Club of Greece
